Palm Coast City Council recently considered important land development decisions, including a proposal for additional homes in Seminole Trace and financing for a major Town Center land acquisition.

Palm Coast Reviews Key Development Decisions Palm Coast continues to evaluate how residential growth, land use, and infrastructure planning will shape the community. At its October 6, 2026 meeting, the City Council unanimously rejected a proposal to increase the number of permitted homes at Seminole Trace, a development of approximately 331 acres near Seminole Woods Boulevard. The developer requested an increase from 416 to 743 homes. Concerns about infrastructure capacity, traffic, flooding, development density, and unconfirmed water and sewer capacity contributed to the council’s decision. Town Center Land Acquisition The council also voted 4–1 to approve a financing approach related to the city’s planned acquisition of approximately 258 acres in Town Center, associated with a $17 million settlement. The land acquisition represents a significant municipal planning decision. However, the property’s eventual use and its effects on surrounding real estate will depend on future decisions and development plans. Why It Matters for Real Estate Development decisions can influence future housing supply, infrastructure requirements, and the character of growing communities. For prospective buyers and current homeowners, following these decisions provides valuable context when evaluating long-term housing options in Palm Coast.
